Bigger – Better – Faster – Cheaper

James 1:4 “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”.

‘Life is a journey, not a destination so enjoy the journey’ and other cliché phrases sometimes are good reminders because we learn from the words we hear and read. What we say is what we hear and what we eventually believe and therefore act on.

When we hear things often enough they become our reality. Financial words like retirement, budget, savings, interest rate, payments, buy term insurance and invest the difference, good debt/bad debt, risky, good job, minimum payments, managing money wisely, etc. our thoughts become a mindset that determines our actions. But sadly, very little of this financial thinking actually lines up with the Word of God.

Romans 5:1-5 tells us that “we boast in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us”.

Is God limited? Of course not. Then why do limit our hope based on what we can see or think we can see when it comes to money? Because what we read in scripture does not line up with what we are taught and how we are trying to deal with money on a day-to-day basis! We have to understand that the 2 world’s are in opposition to each other. This means we need to learn HOW to build a bridge to connect the money tools we use in our world today, and God’s plans for our lives which are beyond what we can ask or imagine, according to His Power at work in this area of our life!

So, here’s a bit of a MoneyMinding for Financial Grace history lesson

My teaching and methodology of MoneyMinding started as tools to help people accomplish missing pieces in financial planning to make financial decisions that were right for them personally. From there it evolved into a collection of information to explain how to implement tools. It became a system (4 stages and 12 steps with a decision-making hierarchy for every area) after my husband Joe, and I experienced bankruptcy and recovered quickly applying the concepts to buy a house with bad credit, no money down, new self-employed income and a very hot buyers real estate market. We did all this in 6 months from the time we realized God gave us a desire for our own home – not a rented home.

My first course became known as the MoneyMinding Makeover ecourse. It was very unique at the time in how it was offered starting at just $10 per month with a tag line of ”learn to ask better questions to get better results!”

That was over 12 years ago. It was ‘cutting edge’ so to speak, but very expensive to build and maintain. Today, the New MoneyMinding has another ‘cutting edge’ program for $10 per month called the MoneyMinding Mentorship Network and Partner Program (more on that later).

The old MoneyMinding online financial training course grew very fast with no automation because people were learning AND applying the information. Out of the online course came an accelerated workshop for people to connect and experience MoneyMinding in a workshop setting. They applied the information they learned and developed plans to implement a solid financial foundation and generate income to fund their desired lifestyle. Participants also made connections to help implement their plans to earn real money!

My business took off and along the way, the principles were good, but I realize now, I was teaching people to focus on their resources and skills to deal with money according to ‘biblical principles’. MoneyMinding was still about managing money.

That all changed when the Holy Spirit intervened and saved me from fighting my way out of jail though what turns out to be a catastrophic business failure after being set up in a fraud with me and my company set to take the ‘hit’ so to speak.

The core strategies and MoneyMinding system enabled Joe and I to navigate the loss and stres without losing our home, cars, and our daughter’s activities. Our marriage went through extremely tough days, and life was miserable to say the least.

But God brought us to a place of much deeper relationship with Him and with each other through the process. The passion and purpose I had for the financial freedom message is still there – but the purpose has shifted to raise up financially effective ambassadors through Christ – for Him and through Him!

The Devil has one purpose: to steal, kill and destroy the abundant life Jesus came to provide. The more we continue to follow the pattern of the world’s money teaching, the deeper we get into a poverty mindset and resulting moral decay in our nations.

The New MoneyMinding is therefore Bigger – Better – Faster and Cheaper!

Because as powerful as the results were from my original MoneyMinding Courses, God wasn’t the centre of the message. Yet, scripture is clear that He is the one who gives us the Power to produce wealth to confirm the covenant of blessing He made with our ancestors.  He gives us money and all good things as we seek Him and obey Him and not bow down to other gods (Deuteronomy 8). But we are deceived if we think we aren’t all subject to a poverty spirit or falling under the influence of mammon. Most people fail to recognize the limitations of our current financial system that robs us of our power as we give the money God gave us over to the strategies the world wants us to follow – strategies that give them the power, and that enslave the people – one transaction at a time.

God is Powering the New MoneyMinding; and so I say today:

The purpose is much bigger.

The programs are much better.

The results are much faster.

The courses are much cheaper.

It’s a new paradigm that exposes the out-dated, worldview knowledge about money that leads to isolation, intimidation, independence and ignorance; indicating how the enemy has gained a stronghold over Kingdom finances.

When we gather in His name to pray, learn, apply, share and receive, the potential to increase financial resources for the Kingdom of God in your life and around the world is what follows!

Gather the Harvesters

“Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”

 

This might be one of the most important posts I’ve ever shared! Even as I read it, I feel the overwhelming sense of urgency and importance of the message. Please take the time to read it and to act as the Spirit leads!

God speaks to us in my different ways: dreams, visions, unctions in our spirit, other people, circumstances, His audible voice and of course His Word. When you receive a word from the Lord you always want to test it against the truth of His written Word. When you receive a few powerful messages speaking the same thing, you pay attention! In my case, that means sharing the message(s) He has given me today for anyone with ears to hear and eyes to see.

Last week at a prayer meeting after praying for deliverance from negative word curses and witchcraft that has sabotaged plans and purposes, the Lord appeared to me in bright light through the clouds. His robe was flowing like a beautiful waterfall into a crystal-clear pool of water. People were around the edge of the pool, diving in and coming up with handfuls of jewels. They would come to the shore and celebrate with others who would dive into this pool full of beautiful sparkling treasure. The Lord’s outstretched arms were surrounding the scene and there was much activity as people drew close to see what all the commotion was about before, they too dove into the pool to come up with their treasure. The Lord looked at me to say, “Gather the people, it’s time to collect the treasure and celebrate.

Last night I had a long dream where family and friends were gathering for a show and a wedding. One of the family members had died and no one seemed to really pay any attention to it. Except the deceased family member reappeared and when I questioned him about what happened he said that all the financial stress had driven him to away. It seems the message the Lord was speaking was that the stress of working to make ends meet was causing people to become complacent about what was important, but there is a time of gathering, celebrating and relaxing at hand for the people who will step away from the routine of they way they have been doing life so far.

This morning in my prayer time, I was still pondering the dream when I was interrupted by beautiful golden wheat fields as far as the eye could see. The fields were dotted with golden modern-day windmills.

I asked the Lord what this meant, and he said,The seeds and crop are inside; I’m blowing the wind of power through the Holy Spirit to produce vast treasure – the bread of life for all who will receive; rich life as far as the eye can see”.

I asked Him where the harvesters are, and he said, “They are busy labouring for that which isn’t life. Go call in the harvesters to gather the crop. The seeds are abundant; the bread is good and full of life”.

Where do I find the harvesters,” I asked? He said,They are in the city (I saw something that looked like a time lapsed vision of a busy city at night and day with cars and lights and a lot of activity). He said, “They are busy going to and fro”.

I said, “How do we get them to listen then?”  He said, “I will bring them to a stop. But, when I do the seeds and fields will be few. The people will come looking but the treasure will be scarce, scant crumbs compared to the vast overflow available if they come today as I blow life and power into the seeds that produce the bread of life. Go now – call in the harvesters. Tell them their crop awaits. The field is ready for those who will stop, see and listen to my voice today.”

Come,” he says, “The bread of life is ready; the treasure is inside, but it needs to be gathered by the power of my Holy Spirit”, says the Lord. “Tell my people they must gather now. They cannot harvest alone, for great is the reward, but strong is the adversity. They must lock hands and join in advancing towards and through the field together; encircle the crops; advance to the centre of my will, that none should perish, and the enemy is bared entry”.

Hurry – Gather – Lock Arms – Advance. My golden wind empowers and encircles you as the harvesters step into the field – my field of everlasting and infinite treasure,” says the Lord. “As you advance, sing praises of joy as many hands make light work, but it’s not your hands doing the work as you lock arms, your feet are moving in unison and stir up the soil and the sheaves of wheat, so my Holy Spirit does the gathering, the production and distribution to reach far and wide to those where seed is scarce, and adversity is heavy.”

Hurry. Gather. Lock arms. Advance together”, says the Lord. “I am before you. Adversity will depart as you step forward and gather the harvesters in my name! Go now; the field is ready. The harvesters are hungry. The treasure is vast!

Then He added, “Tell the people they need to let go of control. I control the wind of provision. I determine when it blows and when it stops”.

We will not receive the treasure if we continue to feed the worlds system and think we’re going to be ok because our family has savings and no debt and a good job with regular income and benefits!

I believe we are on the verge of an upheaval in the world’s monetary system that teaches spending and saving. I believe we’ve been heading this way since the 1970’s when credit and trust in something that has only a made-up value became the standard currency of the world. This month in Canada is ‘financial literacy month’. This is frightening to those who know what the world teaches as well us heed the Spirit’s warnings, because the mindset the world’s financial literacy aims to develop is one that gives more and more power to the world’s financial institutions who control who and when and how much money is in the economy and when and how we as individuals can access it (or not)!

God’s desire is to unlock the seeds of prosperity within His people as they learn to sow and reap according to His good plans and purposes. This is why I continually talk about entrepreneurial-thinking and the need for community to gain financial knowledge and wisdom to apply it to your unique situation according to God’s plans for prosperity even within the worlds system! There are largely untapped opportunities within the context of our day-to-day financial lives, where we can minimize the impact the money we have in our hands to manage, has to further enslave our nations – BUT you have to first be willing to let go of the fear of losing control, or the pride of assuming you know what’s best…

Few people realize they can use insurance for example, to accomplish multiple financial needs – but not the kind of insurance you are sold at a bank or through your credit card! Few people also realize the extreme power we have to minimize overall debt and interest charges simply by changing the timing and direction of what systems we use, and when.

Oh friend, please hear my heart! There are better ways! There is more! You might not see how in your natural circumstances; and perhaps you think you’re doing ok and doing the best you can! There is always more and there is much more to do!!

We all can benefit from applying Romans 12:1-2 to our lives, and be willing to let down our sense of control over our financial decisions and financial thinking, to let Him show us His promises of ‘immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine according to His riches in Christ Jesus’.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will, (Romans 12:1-2 NIV)

“For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:14-21)

MoneyMinding Today Radio: Spending Money to Build Wealth

We have to spend to live. One way to look at spending will direct you focus on what you have and you can be reinforcing scarcity and self-control. The other way is to look at spending as overflowing blessings. There is a condition of your heart which is tested every time you make a purchase. Are you reinforcing your faith and love for God, or are you being influenced by the spirit of mammon, inflicting emotional spending, lack, guilt, fear and poverty into your spirit at the point of purchase. Revelation 13 tells us of the devil’s plans to control the money supply. The technology exists for his plans to be fulfilled today – are we ready?

Debt Won’t Sabotage Your Retirement (and our economy), but how you view it will.

In the past few days I’ve received a few related articles on the impact of debt on retirement and the stress it causes.  Here are a couple of the recent ones:  Majority of Retirees Carry Debt and Boomers will Retire in Debt.

Before I carry on though, it’s important that you understand that this discussion is not to be interpreted as advocating reckless spending.  I have to begin with this disclaimer because money and debt have such strong connections to negative emotions that it’s critical to pre-empt any mention of anything slightly unconventional with the caveat that there are proper strategies for all of this and that money isn’t something that most adults received a foundation of knowledge in.  Dealing with financial matters requires good communication with financial professionals, but professionals are not money counsellors, or teachers, and most of this isn’t part of the standard financial curriculum in any case. You need to do your part in understanding your options and work with professionals to implement the plans!

What is so upsetting about this emphasis on debt reduction in favour of asset accumulation is the seemingly absent recognition that consumer spending and consumer confidence fuel our economy.  The continuous emphasis on ‘get out of debt’ so you can save a big pot of gold so then you’ll have more money to spend is only a half truth.

We actually don’t need savings – we need an ongoing source of income to provide for our basic lifestyle needs and other opportunities and emergencies that come up along the way.  The fuel for spending is income.  Income can be generated in many ways, yet the conventionally accepted view is that income is a more or less static variable in the financial planning process and that providing for financial needs after work will come from selling off assets (the accumulated pot of gold).

I am not aware of anything more stressful and unsettling than to life day in and day out with a nagging voice of doubt that maybe you shouldn’t be spending money on this or that because you have to get rid of the debt and add to your savings.

This commonly accepted view not only creates uncertainty, it also creates an environment where the scarcity mentality it feeds is prone to inappropriate financial decisions, bad investmenst, and isn’t generous towards others and social causes.

The lessons we’re teaching our young people who are watching their ‘retiring parents’ is that its perhaps better to not even ‘try’ to do something significant because the cost to get there is going to be too high and they ‘won’t be able to afford it’.  (check out the CBC report on ‘Olympic Dreams and Olympic Debt’).  Instead of pursuing worthwhile dreams, many people simply resort to a life of silent bitterness or resentment where they slowly become more and more self-centred and fearful of running out of money and not being able to support themselves.

This self-centredness becomes a distraction for a whole range of social issues because people go looking for an outlet – hmm, look at how sex has become so commonly accepted in mainstream media.  People look for a way to manifest their desires somehow. Unfortunately, we are fed a constant stream of enticing images and messages about how to fuel some sort of desire we might have forgotten about or not realized we had with some kind of material good.  Of course, the fulfilment of desires through possessions has an economic advantage to the business selling the goods and on some level will fulfil needs and desires of the person purchasing so there is certainly some benefit to the marketing information – until, however, the reality sets in and guilt and fear occupy thoughts with no end in sight other than further denial.  It’s a cycle that isn’t good for the individual, for the family, for our communities and for our entire economy.

So what’s the answer if it’s not go ‘cut back spending, to get out of debt, and to save a bigger pot of gold for the fairyland called retirement’? 

The answer actually isn’t rocket science but seems to be a huge struggle for many people because they have grown up in this culture of self-centred financial support which focuses on getting a good education so you can get a good job, then learn to manage your money on your own once you’ve got the job.

It seems that conventional teaching has completely left out the fuel for the entire plan which is the creation of income.   There are many many ways to create sustainable incomes besides a job or two or three.  It doesn’t take a big pot of gold for you to be able to retire and create more income from your investments, it takes independent thinking that knows the difference between earning less than you spend, and spending less than you earn.  It also takes financial confidence to know how to maximize the effectiveness of your finances so you are ‘leveraging’ all your assets including access to credit, to create sustainable income that creates wealth that creates further income and so and so on.

We have to realize that getting out of debt by cutting back spending will actually reduce our freedoms, lower our standard of living and NOT provide the peace of mind or independent thinking that will assist in creating the extra funds for the additional spending money you’re looking for to satisfy your personal interests, desires and higher causes.

Remember, I didn’t say to continue to spend recklessly and to hold on to high interest non-deductible debt or to just spend on selfish desires.  I’m saying that the way to win the war on debt and to create financial independence that will enable you to choose to leave work if you want (ie enable you to retire) is to learn how to earn sustainable income, to manage that income and all your other financial resources effectively (not just by looking at interest rates and rates of returns), so you can maintain your personal economy, while also helping others and ultimately our entire society!
