James 1:4 “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”.
‘Life is a journey, not a destination so enjoy the journey’ and other cliché phrases sometimes are good reminders because we learn from the words we hear and read. What we say is what we hear and what we eventually believe and therefore act on.
When we hear things often enough they become our reality. Financial words like retirement, budget, savings, interest rate, payments, buy term insurance and invest the difference, good debt/bad debt, risky, good job, minimum payments, managing money wisely, etc. our thoughts become a mindset that determines our actions. But sadly, very little of this financial thinking actually lines up with the Word of God.
Romans 5:1-5 tells us that “we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us”.
Is God limited? Of course not. Then why do limit our hope based on what we can see or think we can see when it comes to money? Because what we read in scripture does not line up with what we are taught and how we are trying to deal with money on a day-to-day basis! We have to understand that the 2 world’s are in opposition to each other. This means we need to learn HOW to build a bridge to connect the money tools we use in our world today, and God’s plans for our lives which are beyond what we can ask or imagine, according to His Power at work in this area of our life!
So, here’s a bit of a MoneyMinding for Financial Grace history lesson
My teaching and methodology of MoneyMinding started as tools to help people accomplish missing pieces in financial planning to make financial decisions that were right for them personally. From there it evolved into a collection of information to explain how to implement tools. It became a system (4 stages and 12 steps with a decision-making hierarchy for every area) after my husband Joe, and I experienced bankruptcy and recovered quickly applying the concepts to buy a house with bad credit, no money down, new self-employed income and a very hot buyers real estate market. We did all this in 6 months from the time we realized God gave us a desire for our own home – not a rented home.
My first course became known as the MoneyMinding Makeover ecourse. It was very unique at the time in how it was offered starting at just $10 per month with a tag line of ”learn to ask better questions to get better results!”
That was over 12 years ago. It was ‘cutting edge’ so to speak, but very expensive to build and maintain. Today, the New MoneyMinding has another ‘cutting edge’ program for $10 per month called the MoneyMinding Mentorship Network and Partner Program (more on that later).
The old MoneyMinding online financial training course grew very fast with no automation because people were learning AND applying the information. Out of the online course came an accelerated workshop for people to connect and experience MoneyMinding in a workshop setting. They applied the information they learned and developed plans to implement a solid financial foundation and generate income to fund their desired lifestyle. Participants also made connections to help implement their plans to earn real money!
My business took off and along the way, the principles were good, but I realize now, I was teaching people to focus on their resources and skills to deal with money according to ‘biblical principles’. MoneyMinding was still about managing money.
That all changed when the Holy Spirit intervened and saved me from fighting my way out of jail though what turns out to be a catastrophic business failure after being set up in a fraud with me and my company set to take the ‘hit’ so to speak.
The core strategies and MoneyMinding system enabled Joe and I to navigate the loss and stres without losing our home, cars, and our daughter’s activities. Our marriage went through extremely tough days, and life was miserable to say the least.
But God brought us to a place of much deeper relationship with Him and with each other through the process. The passion and purpose I had for the financial freedom message is still there – but the purpose has shifted to raise up financially effective ambassadors through Christ – for Him and through Him!
The Devil has one purpose: to steal, kill and destroy the abundant life Jesus came to provide. The more we continue to follow the pattern of the world’s money teaching, the deeper we get into a poverty mindset and resulting moral decay in our nations.
Because as powerful as the results were from my original MoneyMinding Courses, God wasn’t the centre of the message. Yet, scripture is clear that He is the one who gives us the Power to produce wealth to confirm the covenant of blessing He made with our ancestors. He gives us money and all good things as we seek Him and obey Him and not bow down to other gods (Deuteronomy 8). But we are deceived if we think we aren’t all subject to a poverty spirit or falling under the influence of mammon. Most people fail to recognize the limitations of our current financial system that robs us of our power as we give the money God gave us over to the strategies the world wants us to follow – strategies that give them the power, and that enslave the people – one transaction at a time.
God is Powering the New MoneyMinding; and so I say today:
The purpose is much bigger.
The programs are much better.
The results are much faster.
The courses are much cheaper.
It’s a new paradigm that exposes the out-dated, worldview knowledge about money that leads to isolation, intimidation, independence and ignorance; indicating how the enemy has gained a stronghold over Kingdom finances.
